At TNT, we believe that the development of each child is important and that every child, with the help of tennis, can become a fully rounded individual who can better handle the challenges of life. We do this by incorporating accepted principles and values into our development model, in order not only to develop better tennis players, but leaders who can lead as well as take life on with enthusiasm.
We use the International Tennis Federation's guide for Long Term Player Development.
From age 4 to 5 is co-ordination and balance with an active start.
Age 6 to 9 is the '' FUNdamentals '' phase during which Serve, Rally and Score principles are taught. This phase is the 'having fun while we are learning to play properly' phase
From 10 to 12, we learn to practice with structure, and where we are exposed to better players. Our own game has no clear weaknesses and we start to create problems for our opponent with our serve.
Between the ages of 12 and 16 we are practicing in practice. We win individual competitions and our coach performs International talent identification and analysis at 14. My coach also helps with career choice education and explain the options available to me regarding bursaries, sponsorship and International competitions.
We are privileged to have a professional tennis coach available on our site. Professional coaching takes place right through the year on our jobs. Team practice for league players are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 14:00 - 15:00.
We like to reward our enthusiastic players at the end of the year on our prize giving. League winners are rewarded with a scroll and a certificate. Then there are cups for the best player and for the player who made the best progress.
